Feayra: Land of Snow and Wild
People from Feayra are "Feayrans," singular "Feayran." Not to be confused with the "feayr," the race that populates Feayra.
Terrain: Feayra ranges from frozen tundra in the region of the A'vurkana Mountains to thick, snow-covered evergreen forests in the lower elevations. A number of icy lakes, both alpine and surrounded by forest, dot the landscape. Much of its coasts are not sandy beaches but ashen cliffs pushing up against the sea.
People: You could probably count the number of non-feayr in Feayra on one hand. The shifter's territorial nature prevents anyone from the outside world from penetrating their borders.
The feayran va'ur and ku'ur hierarchy, along with moon worship, is the driving force behind Feayra's society. Anuak challenges are common spectacles. Strength and respect are the most esteemed of Feayran virtues. There is no slavery in Feayra, though individuals are expected to obey those with va'ur over them.
Government: There is no universal government over Feayra, except for the general influence of the lunar priesthood. Each individual pack is ruled by a Kur. The Kur is by no means a stable position, though--a single Anuak challenge can cause a shift in power.
Economy: Feayra does not engage in international trade, with the exceedingly rare exception of exchanges with the dwarves for metals. Domestically, little trade takes place between the packs. Mostly, the economy centers around hunting, tanning, weapon-crafting, etc.
((Note: the Feayran language is an original creation of mine. I'll try to get some basic vocabulary up for you guys soon.))
