Caermarn
Talambar's capital city, located at the mouth of the Wysfarr River. Caermarn is home to Brenhintyr Palace, the Market, and the Talmas.
To the north, Caermarn is dominated by docks, taverns, and small workshops. It smells of salt and shellfish, and although the North District constitutes only about a third of the city's area, it houses nearly 70% of its population.
In the center of the city, where the North and South Districts converge, lies the Caermarn Market and the Talmas. While there are a few homes in this area, mostly located above streetside shops, the majority of the Central District is made up of open squares and plazas.
To the south, the North District's crowded streets, buildings, and shops give way to the open manors and estates of the nobility. Brenhintyr Palace is located here, overlooking the Wysfarr. The area is full of orchards, private gardens, and riding grounds, as well as the king's horse track.
Main industries: Shipping, entertainment, trade exchange, slave trading, orchard fruits.
Population: Balanced male-female ratio, 45% slave population. Mostly human.

The Talmas
A colossal gladiatorial arena in Caermarn. While it shares the same name as the other arenas around Talambar, there is no mistaking the talmases of the towns for the Talmas of the capital. Maintained by the king himself, the Talmas hosts duels and other attractions nearly continuously. Mostly, the combatants are slaves from private contractors; however, the king also provides a venue for freedmen to enter themselves into individual matches. There is typically no entry fee as long as the contestants promise a show.
The king has drawn on his own resources to make the Talmas the most spectacular arena in Domhantir. He has assembled a team of highly-skilled healers to restore civilian participants at no charge--however, this service is not available to slave contractors.
Additionally, the Talmas is staffed by a team of Domhantir's greatest illusionists. Between fights, the sand of the arena floor may become a dense jungle, a wind-swept peak, a winding limestone maze. Sometimes the amount of space inside the arena seems much greater than what the coliseum should be able to hold. Additionally, in civilian matches, the illusionists ensure that no irreversible harm comes to the combatants. However, the crowds like to see blood every now and again, so the arena slaves are not given the same guarantee.

Caermarn Market
Located in Caermarn's Central District adjacent to the Talmas, the Market is one of the largest marketplaces in Domhantir. Merchants here conduct exchanges of goods shipped from Aetherae, Masnachr, and Mynydford, among other venues, as well as produce, slaves, and manufactured goods from Caermarn itself.
