Hi guys. I'm thinking I'd like to start an RP, and I have a pretty good idea of how I want this to play out, so I'll tell you the story line, and then we can see if anyone is interested.
Legends speak of a lost city where the sun shines beautifully, and all the inhabitants live a life of leisure with technology and riches beyond imagination. Up until now, speculations as to where the city might be found have ranged all over the surface of the world...
But no more. Hans Gerleicht, a scholar world reknown, has stumbled across a mysterious silver ball with lines etched into it... which seems almost like a map of the world. And on this ball is a strange mark that, according to Hans' books, translates as, "City of steel."
This is it! The discovery of a lifetime! Quickly, he set's about advertising for members of an expedition to head to the frozen north, much farther north than even the wastelands of feayra. Who knows what they shall find there...
Ok, here's the deal: Your character, for some reason, is on an expedition to find The legendary "City of Steel", which resides, supposedly on the other side of a HUGE mountain near the north pole. The actual expedition will begin with the ship reaching the Feayran shores and the team embarking out.
There's room for about 8 player characters to be on the expedition. But only 2 of these characters should be warriors. The rest should be of varied backgrounds. Think orginal.
Anyways, the whole idea is that Hans Gerleicht is convinced that the ball leads to the city of steel. But as the expedition continues, on, trial after trial hits the beleaguered group. Things get exceedingly difficult, supplies run low, and the environment becomes incredibly inhospitable.
Will the members of the expedition find the city of steel? Nope. Truth be told, it doesn't exist. It's a mythological construct held over from days of yore, and doesn't exist in the slightest. So how did the ball come to be in hans posession? It is a mere fan-made relic, made by a metal-smith who loved the lore and thus, decided to make something that would be nice. It was never meant to decieve, but somehow, the ball got separated from it's owner...and fell into the hands of Hans Gerlicht.
So basically, it's about survival. There'll be plenty of enemies, but the majority of the strife will come from angst within the group, gnawing anxieties and irritable tempers. As well as the environment and unfortunate circumstances.
Hans will remain adamant to almost the very end that the city of steel exists. And he will be the one pushing everyone to continue. The group should stay together. You can go out on your own, but you won't last very long, as the two warriors are in Hans's employ. So once things get bad, your goal is to convince hans that it's hopeless, and then it's the long trek back to civilization. It'll be a miracle if everyone survives.
So, is anyone interested in an RP like this?
